PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 8/20/2026
NOM Digital ("we", "us") is a digital marketing agency serving restaurants and hospitality businesses in Washington DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Pittsburgh.
This policy explains what information we handle, why, and what we do and do not do with it. It covers this website and the marketing services we provide to our clients.
Information we handle on behalf of our clients
Our clients hire us to manage their marketing. To do that, they authorize us to access accounts they own. We only ever access an account after its owner has granted us permission, and only for the work they have engaged us to do.
Social media and business listing accounts
With a client's authorization we access their accounts on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram), Google Business Profile, TikTok, and YouTube.
From these we read:
-
Performance metrics such as views, reach, impressions, profile visits, interactions, and follower counts
-
Information about posts published on the account, including engagement figures
-
Business information such as name, address, hours, and category
-
Advertising campaign performance, for clients whose paid campaigns we run
These figures describe how a client's own content and listings performed. They are aggregate business metrics. We do not use these connections to collect personal information about individual members of the public.
Online reviews
For clients who engage us for reputation management, we read and respond to reviews left on Google Business Profile, Yelp, and OpenTable. This means we see the review content and the reviewer's display name as shown publicly on those platforms.
Email marketing lists
For clients who engage us for email newsletters, we handle subscriber lists that the client provides or collects. These typically contain email addresses and may contain names. This information belongs to the client. We use it only to send the campaigns that client has asked us to send.
How we use this information
We use it to deliver the services our clients hire us for:
-
Producing content and managing client social media accounts
-
Creating and running advertising campaigns
-
Responding to reviews
-
Sending email campaigns on a client's behalf
-
Compiling monthly performance reports showing how each channel performed
What we do not do
-
We do not sell client data or the data of their customers
-
We do not share one client's data with another client
-
We do not use data obtained from a client's accounts for any purpose other than serving that client
-
We do not use it to build advertising profiles, train machine learning models, or create data products
-
We do not access accounts we have not been authorized to access
Google user data
Where a client authorizes us to access their Google Business Profile, we use Google APIs to read performance metrics and business information for the purpose of managing their profile and reporting on its performance.
Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically, we use Google user data only to provide the services described in this policy, we do not transfer it except as necessary to provide those services or as required by law, we do not use it for advertising purposes, and we do not allow humans to read it except where the client has given permission, where it is necessary for security or to comply with law, or where the data has been aggregated and anonymized.
Storage, access, and retention
Client performance data is stored in our own systems and in the business tools we use to run the agency. Access is limited to NOM Digital staff working on that client's account.
We retain client performance data for the duration of our engagement and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that historical reporting and year-over-year comparisons remain available. We delete client data within 12 months of an engagement ending, unless the client asks us to delete it sooner.
How a client ends our access
A client can revoke our access at any time by removing NOM Digital as a manager or partner on the relevant account, or by asking us to do so. Once access is removed we can no longer retrieve data from that account. A client may also ask us to delete the data we hold for them, and we will do so.
